The food court at Fourways Mall might not be your first thought for a meal out with the family or your partner, but it actually is. That’s because of Toulah’s Greek Restaurant. Step inside this little bit of Greece.
A family affair
Toulah’s is a proud of its family heritage, and is named in honour of the owner Paul Fagas’ late godmother. It’s the kind of place where your whole family can sit down around a table of delicious food and enjoy your time together.
Sharing is caring
Toalah’s is based on Greek “mezedes” – many small dishes that are placed on the table for everyone to enjoy together. You have to start your meal there with their homemade pita bread, dipped in hummus, red pepper tzatziki, olive pate and taramosalata (fish roe).
Greek with a twist
While you can expect traditional Greek meals like souvlaki, calamari and halloumi cheese, there are also some fusion dishes on the menu. How about goat’s cheese spring rolls: phyllo pastry cigars filled with diced olives, sundried tomatoes and goat’s cheese? Mmmm… There’s also a Greek burger, which is stuffed with feta and served with tzatziki. Yes please!
Dessert lovers are in for an absolute treat at Toulah’s. Of course there is the traditional Greek baklava – layers of light phyllo pastry, nuts and honey – but the chef says that the goat’s cheese and black cherry cigars with dark chocolate sauce are to die for. You might not want to share those!
Go to Toulah’s and taste the deliciousness for yourself!
