We’ve had a beautiful time checking out some of Fourways’ best beauty spots. Here’s our roundup of our favourite spa experiences for 2018.
Here comes the (fake)
In the spirit of “fake it till you make it”, our journalist Aimee lost her spray tan virginity at Gold Coast Tan at Cedar Square. When a story about a salon starts with vampires, you know it’s gonna be great:
I’ve always had very fair skin, and too much time spent in the sun inevitably results in me going bright red, then back to pale. When the Twilight series came out in the early noughties, I no longer felt the pressure to be beautifully bronzed. But it’s been ten years since Twilight hit the shelves, and the sparkle has worn off, so to speak.
Where stress melts away
In another spa first, Susie went to Matis at Fourways for a massage, something she generally hates. We didn’t just make her go to torture her, we genuinely knew it would do it her good (and make her stop being so grumpy). Thanks to the skilled massage therapist and tranquil atmosphere at Matis, she learnt to relax and start loving massage.
New kid on the block
A few months ago, Deluxe Laser and Spa opened at Fourways Mall, offering a whole range of treatments. Get radiant with a facial, give signs of ageing the boot, add some colour to your nails, blast away hair, bliss out with a massage, fake your tan… Basically, when you want to treat yourself or have a special event coming up, you need to get an appointment. This is why you won’t be disappointed.
