Gothic romance
Celebrate your eternal (and dramatic) love at the Vampire Valentine’s dinner at The Moors Castle. Dress in your sexiest vampire clothes (come on, we know you have them lurking in your cupboard!) and devour a three-course vampire meal (it’ll be red wine in those goblets, right?) followed by dancing under the moon. It’s happening on 15 February from 6:30pm – get your tickets.

Snuggle up
For a tamer and more family friendly Valentine’s celebration, head to Valentine’s Movies in the Park at Riversands Farm Village on 16 February. The theme is Valentine’s Red Carpet, and if you dress up you could win a hot air balloon safari for two. Spread out your blanket from 2pm and spend the day watching romantic movies. The line-up includes Shrek, 50 First Dates, Dirty Dancing and PS I Love You. Bring your own picnic or pick up your snacks at the food vendors. Tickets are R165 with kids under 17 free.

Ready to mingle
Chicago’s Piano Bar at Waterford always puts on parties with a difference. On 15 February, the Lonehill Estate will playing at their Down with Love party. If you are in a post-Valentine’s funk, dress in green to show people that you are single and ready to mingle. Wear orange for “it’s complicated” or red if you are off the market and just want to enjoy a night of dancing. Arrive before 8pm for free entry, and soak up as many vodka and lemonades as you want for R15 before 10pm.

Double up
If Eishkom is getting you down or you just don’t feel like cooking, then Taco Tuesdays at Tiger’s Milk at Cedar Square is for you. Choose any two of the tacos on their menu and you get the cheapest one free! Pulled pork, fish, beef or veggie… We want them all!
