The other day a member of our Get the 411 fam asked us for recommendations for local restaurants with gluten-free options. The good news is that there are plenty of places where you won’t be faced with a boring old salad if you’re not into gluten.
Buon appetito! 🍕🍝
You don’t have to give up pizza and pasta, the holy grail of deliciousness, just because you’re off gluten. Pellegrino Toscana at Cedar Square makes the most amazing thin crust pizzas and sumptuous pastas, all of which are available as gluten-free. Get ready to bite into a pizza with three types of mushrooms, truffle oil and parmesan, or slurp up linguine with meatballs or a rich sauce of oxtail off the bone.
Prawn up 🦐
Imagine you’re chilling out on a Mozambican beach at Laurentina (also at Cedar Square). Being gluten-free isn’t an issue because all the mains are served with mash, fries, rice, veg or salad. We can’t get enough of their peri-peri prawns, but they also do amazing chicken, trinchado and espetada.
It’s a fiesta! 🌮
With its corn and rice, Mexican cuisine is naturally very kind to the gluten-free, which is why we love Salsa Mexican Grill at Pineslopes. Get messy with a plate of nachos, stuff your taco or build your own bowl. They also do naked burritos. Did you know that tequila is gluten-free? #justsaying
Good morning! 🥑
Breakfast can be a challenge when you’re avoiding toast, but at Doppio Zero at Pineslopes, you are covered. All of their breakfasts have the option of adding gluten-free toast, so you can enjoy a full English, scrambled eggs or omelette without worry. Hello, avocado toast!
