Can you believe that juicy band Mango Groove has been going for 30 years? (Don’t think too much about that or you’ll feel old.) To celebrate, they are having a spectacular concert at the Teatro at Montecasino. You’ll be on your feet, grooving along to old favourites like Special Star, Dance Some More, Hellfire, Move Up and Moments Away. You can also expect new songs, like Faces to the Sun. There are only three shows, from 8 to 10 March, so do not miss out!
Show your true colours
Also on at Monte from 8 to 10 March is the CANSA Shavathon. Show your support for those affected by cancer by shaving, spraying or donating your hair. If you can’t make the event, or your corporate job won’t let you rock blue hair, pay a “bail out fee”. The money raised goes to CANSA, which assists people who are undergoing treatment, and also contributes to ongoing research to make cancer a thing of the past.
Take a trip out to Muldersdrift on 9 March for a chilled day of sampling wines, gins, craft beers and bubblies at The Cellar Rats Summer Wine Festival. Chat to over 70 producers, get something delicious to eat and relax in the tranquil setting of Bosheuvel Country Estate. There is plenty of entertainment for kids, a sparkling pool and a restaurant on the estate. As they say, “Save water, drink wine!” We agree, but we also save lives and take ubers or get a designated driver.
Music is the answer
Here’s one for the techno lovers. Mandala Madness: Awakening is 14 hours of underground psychedelic trance, techno and full-on – that’s a melodic type of trance music. (We had to Google it.) It’ll be a sublime alignment of beats and the cosmos with over 22 DJs and 2 dance floors. It’s at Room 22 in The Square Shopping Center in Sunninghill. Get ready to dance all day and night.
