Loud and proud
Bianca Del Rio, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is coming to town for one show only. The bitingly funny drag queen will be at Montecasino on 11 August with her show Blame it on Bianca Del Rio. The self confessed “expert at nothing with an opinion on everything” is fierce, funny and fabulous. You’ll laugh and sometimes cringe – it’s not for the easily offended.

Retro rock
Our new favourite party spot, Chicago’s Piano Bar which just opened at Waterford Centre, is hosting a Rock & Roll Party with Richelieu on 10 August. There will be a live party band playing hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as a DJ and plenty of Richelieu, of course. The party starts at 7.

Joke appropriation without compensation
Blacks Only has been running for 15 years, and this one is extra special because it’s celebrating David Kau’s 20th year in comedy. The man himself will be MCing the show, presenting talent from around the world, including Dwayne Perkins, Kagiso KG Mogadi, Riaad Moosa, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Somizi and Tumi Morake. The theme this year is “Joke Appropriation without Compensation”. It’s on at the Ticketpro Dome on 11 August. Get your tickets.

Cuppa tea?
The weather this weekend is looking a little bleak, so you might just find us at Carmella’s on the Square at Cedar Square enjoying one or two (or three or four) macaron. They’ve added these mouthfuls of deliciousness to their in-store menu, and we are so happy! You can also order custom macaron for special events.
